I think this was the easiest and most painless unlock/root I ever did, thanks Wug!!!!
Wug's toolkit installs Clockwork Recovery, which will keep you from getting the OTA. That's why I refuse to use the toolkit until he makes it an option.

Hey guys, I was running Romanbb's 4.0.4 build earlier today. I clicked on a video (which may or may not have been on a porn site) all of a sudden my screen went all wacky. Where it was kind of fuzzy and running diagnal across the screen. I could only see part of it. I thought I might have gotten a virus or something because i have never had one of my devices do this before. So I immideatly rebooted the phone into recovery and wiped eveything including formatting system. I went to flash a nandroid I had of black ice and in the middle of flashing that my phone rebooted itself and stayed there (bootlooping at the google logo) I can get into fastboot and I can get into recovery about one out of every ten times but I cant do anything in recovery because the phone seems to turn itself off insted of booting recovery (I have clockwork touch) It seems to be stable in fastboot (thank god!) but When I get it connected in Wugs and try to flash the stock image it goes through the motions and says FAILED on every step exept the first. It says (too many links) on the last four) and I cant remember the error on the first but I have tried it a couple times so I can replicate it if needed. Can anyone tell me what to do from here? I really appreciate in advance!!!
    Edit:
Damn this forum is dead today!
still looking for help. im going to go post somewhere else to see if i can get a quicker reply.
i got some suggestions to try odin over at xda. also was told not to be so quick to jump into cwm and start erasing stuff. i posibly should have tried rebooting the phone first. being as my first thought was virus i instinctivly thought i should wipe everything.i think i may have a hardware failure so if odin dosent work that will be my confirmation i guess. i will udate this post with my results. =)

I tired oden and it did not work which leads me to believe this is a harware failure but any imput would be greatly appreciated! Here are some pics.

here is where Im at now if anyone is in a similar situation. I have been working on this for days now so hopefully I can save someone else the trouble.

[Question] Has anyoone used a USB Jig on the Gnex? Does it work? What will it do?

Error: More than one device and emulator

    Hi Guys

I have followed the instruction and have problem after installing the drivers. I removed all the drivers and then follow the screen instructions to install drivers again. When I plug my phone in, it detects two devices. I believe its because its detecting the mobile device AND a MTP (media transfer protocol?)(like a mass storage). I could not "safely remove" external media.... And because it detects 2 devices and it shows error: more than one device and emulator...

What can I do? the driver is correctly installed and I cannot continue...

    Thanks.

So if I want the OTA, I need to go back to unrooted on his toolkit. Will that uninstall clockwork mod, or will I have to lock it as well? Just wondering what all I need to do to get back to be able to receive the OTA whenever it gets here. Thanks. Guess the big thing is how do I uninstall clockwork mod now?

flashing stock + unroot should get you back to stock where you can recieve the ota. you would only need to lock the bootloader if you were taking it back to verizon. at least that is how i understand it.

Ok, thanks, so make a backup before I flash stock and unroot. Would I need to flash stock if I didn't do anything but just rooted? Or is that to flash stock to get rid of clockwork mod? Thanks!!!!

you Do have to disable or get rid of cwm to recieve a ota update. i personally wouldnt bother. i would just wait a couple days and someone will post a rooted version. i see no point to flash stock unless you royally messed up your phone like me =( or you need to return it to verizon.

i know that there are already a couple roms out there such as birdmans aosp 4.0.4 but they dont include the radios or bootloader which will supposidly be released next week =)

    dont include the kernal either

There is no factory 4.0.4 yet. They have not released the update to 4.0.4 yet exept for to asop.

If you were trying to flash a 4.0.4 rom you should have rooted and used clockworkmod.
