I don't remember it ever changing, it's been on usb debugging from the start.

It's disabled by default, so the factory reset would have disabled it again. You might check that.

Ok Guys- so I'm getting ready to root (since Muji pressured me... ;-)) a few questions though. I came from the fascinate, that was easy!! recently learned Heimdall (rooting my galaxy tab) and adb (rooting my Galaxy tab and My kindle (before I decided to take the kindle back)). So have everything downloaded and put in to the appropriate folder (on mine it's not tools but "platform-tools"). Now on step 5. do you need to put it in bootloader (or download) mode? I opened the prompt plugged my phone in which is on just like i was going to transfer files but didn't mount it and typed in "adb devices" My device showed up. so i was kinda stumped because i wasn't sure if i could push the commands with the phone in this state? so there my first question. 2nd, how do you flash the recovery if it's not on your SD card? will this be explained along the way as I'm doing it? and again it says to pick in step 10 a file from your SD card, well the directions never said to put anything on my SD card... so maybe i'm just too much of a noob and haven't done this before but i need idiot proof directions. at least for the first time :-) Thanks in advance for all the help guys!!

Did you put fastboot in your tools folder? If so, "adb reboot bootloader" and then "fastboot oem unlock" to unlock bootloader. Then you push the recovery via ADB and "adb reboot recovery", then flash the su file.

Actually I used this guide for root/CWMR. The first part is for just temporarily flashing CWMR so you can flash the su file, and the 2nd part is for permanent CWMR access.

Thanks bh, i used this guide and it worked great, no messing with Rom Manager.... Now I'm rooted and ready to go!! Anyone installed the wireless tether that was supposed to work? i tried installing it and it said "this device won't let you install this app" so not sure what's going on.

I messed around and got it to work. One, i relized the "don't load unknown apps" was checked. then it said it wouldn't do it from my sd card so i moved it to System/app. works now, gonna try and connect.
