    which method to use ? Completely manual as posted above or the Superboot method posted earlier from XDA ?

    Close to doing this, but as always, I'm a chicken, so gotta line all the ducks up first!

    I did the superboot method. then CWM. Backing up now and it's on to rom'n!!!!!!!!!!

    I would use this method. I think I have read that some people were having problems with superboot. I would do anything manually if you can. Relying on a program to do it all for you always has a higher chance of something not going right. If you need help just ask someone would be glad to help with whatever you may get stuck on

    After reading that the image the Superboot method uses might not be compatible with our VZW phones, I've just completed the manual method. I did kinda cheat and used PDANet to get the drivers installed, and the ADB program from the Superboot zip file. About to download ROM Manager. Yee Haw, so far so good
