I purchased my new Galaxy nexus yesterday after getting rid of the 3 yr contract i had and a crappy phone.
Still being new to android and getting to know the device. I've a question. I could not find any option or any app in playstore to put some sort of security password or prevent anybody from accessing the SETTINGS option and changing anything in my phone. The only security option is to lock or unlock the phone. E.g, i do not want my kid to play around with settings by mistake and change anything. I've app to take care of saving and blocking purchase from playstore etc.
Is there any app for blocking or preventing anyone from accessing the SETTINGS like it pops up and asks for a password to let enter into settings.

Set up a lock on your phone? Then your kid wont be able to access the phone.
Settings > Security > Screen Lock.
you can choose between pattern and like a digit lock
Galaxy Nexus CM 10.1
Nexus 7 3G Stock & rooted /w SMS.apk and viber
Nexus 4 stock unrooted
A rusty android beats a rotten apple any day...
You can download an app called "APPLOCK" .This allows you to set a password for any app as well as other system related stuff like SETTINGS. This way you can still use normal slide unlock for the phone but have a lock only for select applications if needed.
Hope this helps!
here is the link for App Locker. There are other app locking applications in the play store too.
My friend and me had a great time messing with each others phones when we both first got android phones. Lets say after this app was installed on our phones the messing around stopped. The main thing is was that he would go into my settings and put a numerical lock on my phone and laugh at my frustration.
