Ringtone problems

I recently received my new Sprint nexus and have had it for a couple of week. I now need some help with an issue concerning ringtones. I down loaded a couple ring tone apps (bruce lee sound board and looney tunes sound board) and have set some of the downloaded ring tones to certain contacts.When the said caller calls,, it rings on the default ringtone, not the assigned ringtone. The download ringtones show to be in the ringtone selection and work as long as it is a "default" ringtone. I tried deleting the contact and adding it back into contacts, but that didnot work . I tried deleting the ringtone but cannot delete any ringtone.
Has anyone else experienced this issue ? and how do you fix it?

ok I have fixed my problems with the ringtones. In case anyone else has this problem ,this is what I did. Go to your Gmail account and make sure that there is only only one entry per contact. In "my contacts" I had ,lets say, 100 contacts. Then I looked under "more" then "then other" contacts i had 300. There were multiple contacts of the same name which confused the phone . once i deleted duplicate contacts and moved other contacts i wanted to save to "my contacts", the assigned ringtones work.
