I just got a T-mobile monthly 4G plan ($30, 100-minutes, unlimited data (5GB up to 4G) and text) ever since then i've been getting calls from strangers. One was from Jamaica... I called Tmobile customer service and they told me they couldn't block specific numbers and that the only thing they can do was block ALL incoming and outgoing calls.
My question is, is there any way for me to block long distance calls? I have the GSM Galaxy Nexus. Are there any good apps that will do what I need it to do WITHOUT rooting my phone?

Some of the call block apps in the Play store allow you to block all calls not in your contact list or allow you to setup a blacklist.
I just found out and now trying the Avast! Mobile Security app that has a call/sms filter function but I'm having trouble finding a way to allow calls from people that I know.

Galaxy Nexus (GSM)
If you want to block a particular mobile number, create a contact name for that number,
Go to contacts, search the name you have created, press menu----->click...All calls to voicemail....! That's it,you have successfully blocked that number!
For Verizon users, you can log into your account at verizonwireless.com and you can block i think up to 5 numbers or something (its a small amount) for free for 90 days (then you'll have to reblock them for another 90 and so on)....guess that doesnt help you on TMobile tho
You can download a paid app called Extreme Call Blocker Droid from Google Play. It allows you to send a call to voice mail, just pick it up and hang it up and a couple of other options. It's quite versatile and worth the couple of dollars cost.
