When will Verizon US GNEX phones get Android Jelly Bean?

I haven't rooted my phone. I'm wondering when I will get the Jelly Bean update on my GNEX.
I'm on Verizon in the U.S.
Any ideas?
Does anyone know if there is a substantial improvement to battery life compared with the stock ICS build?

Not to be rude but one thing I have learned is Verizon is the worse at updates. Don't even bother asking. No one knows and it won't be soon. They might release it when android 5.0 comes out. This is how far behind they lag on updates.

Yeah, I'm on big red too and have been for years. That is precisely why I just root my phone and flash the new updates. The update is worth it, my advice is to root. Verizon hates this phone because they can't lock it down. I wouldn't hold my breath on an OTA anytime soon.

Nice fine Jet, hopefully the updated binaries will mean the non rooted users will get the OTA sooner rather then later and the binaries help the devs get some more stable into their ROMs.

Not to be too cynical, but I would think the latter rather than the former. I don't see Verizon jumping on the binaries to put out an update for non-rooted users anytime soon. They have nothing to gain.

If we're lucky, JB will officially release by end of summer, but I doubt it. Verizon has mishandled the Nexus from the get go.
