is it possible to uninstall the jelly bean ROM i have? to get OTA updates

When google releases 4.1 on the nexus I am thinking of uninstalling the ROM and letting it update OTA. I feel google's official release might have more updates than the ROMS that are already out such as more options when talking to google voice/search and other things. Is it possible to uninstall my ROM and put the stock back?

Yes you can. You simply need to flash stock ics images

    Where Nexus goes, I go...
    LG Nexus 5 / Nokia Lumia 1520 / Asus Nexus 7

When the OTA comes out, source code will already have been available for a while. Meaning that custom ROMs with more baked in features will be out before the "official" OTA drops.

Yep source should be out in a few weeks, then ROMs will be updated accordingly.

Which JB rom did you install? Some of them will likely get an OTA bringing them to the official release version. All of the attendees at google I/O were given JB phones and will likely be updated.

Yes. But you have to either restore a backup of your stock rom. or you need to flash a stock rom. I'm Verizon in the U.S. on the Toro buds. So, for example, if I were to, need to do this if I didn't have a backup, I would look for a stock Toro 4.0.4 rom and flash it. And as a side note, it needs to be of the odexed type.

Hope that helps. Let me know which build you need and I will look for a link for you when I'm done at the dentist and get home from the Rockies Game if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Welcome to the forum...you have to go all the way back to stock to get the ota or.....did you keep a fresh stock root when you first rooted if so you can do that...I used a super wipe when flashing back to ics some people didn't
