Have not had any issues with deep sleep, not related to Exchange anyway. Maps is constantly waking my phone, think that is related to Google Now, but battery life has been comparable to prior to JB.

I do know that we are running Exchange Server 2010 and that there were issues with 2003 (not sure about 2007), so that could have something to do with it.

One thing you may want to try is deleting the account from your phone, then going into OWA and deleting the phone profile from there, and then start the setup on the phone over again. If your exchange server already has a profile setup for your phone, that could be causing issues.
Thanks a lot, just want to confirm that this resolved my issue (after a bit of tinkering around with the account).
I cleared all 10 of the accounts, deleted the Exchange account on my phone, recreated it; had some errors, but then I went into settings and ticked accept all SSL certificates and cleared the port number. I think this action re-linked the account and finally allowed the email to come through (and start pushing). I have attached a screenshot of the screen below in the hopes of helping someone else in a similar scenario.

OMG. This was IT! I have searched high and low for 2 weeks! Have a new Nexus, on Tmobile. Running JB 4.1.1.

Could not set up my exchange email. Got the dreaded, Waiting to Sync that would NEVER go away. Tried dozens of suggestions.

Very happy to say that the "Turn the Sync Button ON" tip WORKED. I'm in!

But did wonder about that Admin Security Screen I saw just before the sync started... Does it REALLY ever plan to do a factory reset on my phone without warning?

Could you please elaborate on it? Where is the "Turn the Sync Button ON" option?

Sure, just look a bit earlier is this thread. DANGRANT said: simple case of the master "sync'ing" switch being tunred off. I didnt switch it off so i guess it was the JB update. anyway, from your home screen scroll all the way left and then turn on your sync option (where you can turn on wifi, GPS, auto brightness etc). Simple really

Its that bar that turns on Bluetooth, wifi etc. Turn on the "sync" button and viola1

I had the same issue. Exchange wouldn't even set up. I found someone who made an obscure comment somewhere about changing the port from 446 (or whatever it's set at) to 80 and that worked for me.

Thanks. Unfortunately, my Sync was already on. I believe the problem is the version of the Exchange server our company is using, which is 2003. I guess I'll have to keep using Enhanced Email.
