Anyone with Unlocked Galaxy Nexus and AT&T SIM Card?

The title says it all. I want the GN but have to stay on AT&T as I travel internationally a lot and need GSM. I am wondering if getting an unlocked GN and using the SIM Card currently in my N1 would work? Would 4G LTE work?

    Thanks,
    Pierre

Now, you can import the European Nexus...it's GSM and should work fine anywhere on the planet!

Probably a better option than waiting for a US release by AT&T and T-Mobile.

I upgraded from a N1 to a GN yesterday; I'm on T-mobile. The phone functions fine but I'm having issues with data connectivity. I'm using the same old sim card from my N1 and my understanding is the new 4g sim cards are different. I will be updating the sim card today; I'll let ya know what happens.

I have the Galaxy Nexus GSM version and I dropped my N1 AT&T SIM in it. I live in a rural area with poor coverage, but when I was in town the other day (Brevard, NC) I tried one speed check. I got 3335 down and 1135 up, which is 4g HSPA+ speed, but not LTE. My nearest LTE coverage is over 100 miles away in Charlotte. However, that doesn't matter because my understanding is that this phone does not support LTE from any carrier. 3 meg is plenty fast for me so I don't have a need for LTE, and probably wouldn't use it much anyway because of battery drain.

Just curious, if you cannot use LTE, why spend $700 on an unlocked GN and not just get a Galaxy SII from AT&T for under $200? Is it because you wanted a clean Android install without the bloatware like on the N1? Or am I missing something else?
