Interesting. Because I keep my corporate account on this phone, flashing a custom ROM is not a path I can follow, unfortunately.

Yup, I've noticed that. But I can't usually use speakerphone.
This is maddening!

Are you sure you're just not moving your finger in front of the light sensor near the earpiece at the top of your phone? When that sensor is triggered it thinks you're holding the phone against your ear, and it hides the keypad.. keep your fingers away from the top of the phone, I have the problem all the time because I have large hands

I have found that hitting the power button when the screen goes black will keep it on for a while.

I freaking hate this problem. It happens all the damn time. I punched my GeNex in the face. Next time I will just beat my phone with a hammer until it surrenders.
I don't have the settings either on this freaking AXI0M Driven ROM.

I am having the problem of no speakerphone icon whatsoever. I doesnt appear at all. Also when I do go to the dialer screen, only the numbers 1-6 show up! This is also coming from a brand new nexus I bought from the Google Play store a couple weeks ago. Any suggestions on how to fix??

Hi all! I stopped by this forum when I was searching for the answer to my own "hide and seek" game on my phone. I really think it has to do with what fnmetal said up there ^ about the light sensor at the top of the phone. I experimented with that and with the speakerphone and both worked. Of course, if you have on the speakerphone, you're not going to be holding the phone to your ear, so it would not shut off the keypad...also, if I twisted my phone around, I could get it to stay on, probably because I was letting in a light from a different angle. Anyway, it worked and now I'll know to keep my big hand away from the top of the phone while punching in those numbers. Thanks!
