Hi All,
I just picked up the un46es7100 Samsung TV (really nice). I went to download the allshare app onto my Nexus, and it says my phone is not compatible. I am on ICS 4.
Any suggestions?

From what I'm reading, the app would need to be sideloaded (installed outside of the market). You can get it from the link in this thread...Samsung AllShare - xda-developers
I just downloaded from that link and was able to install and open the app on my GNex.
Thank you. I got it installed.
Edit:TY again, but that wasn't the all share, that was the mobile remote.![]()

Oh my bad...the title of that thread mislead me. Not quite sure then, but it looks like Skifta is a good alternative to try...the reviews say it works on the GNex. iMediaShare is another alternative.

I did a bunch of searching and couldn't find it. So I called up Samsung and they said that because it was a Google phone, that AllShare would not work![]()
"...Because it's a Google phone..." That is rich. And I wonder if Samsung stops and thinks about how stupid they sound sometimes. Technically, all Android phones are "Google" phones.
And all the research I have done so far is that the Galaxy SIII has AllPlay on it. Which blows me away because that phone and our G-Nexi are virtually the same phone. Ours just has only the soft keys. People I know who have the SIII are blown away when I show them that my phone can do the exact same things theirs can and more. Especially when they think they are all cool because they'll sit there and send files back and forth via NFC. And then when I sent them one the same way, they were floored. And then I one-upped them. I bought them all lunch and paid with Google Wallet. I swear to God their jaws hit the ground.

they are all technically google phones but the nexus was specifically designed for google. Why they call it a google phone and If I am not mistaken google does not want any proprietary apps installed on their phone. IE Carrier apps and I think this would fall under same category. I am sure if you look hard enough though you will be able to find the app and It will work just fine.
Sprint Galaxy Nexus
CM10 Nightly
Lean Kernel
...oh yeah...proprietary stuff. Still, though, I think it's funny.

"Allshare" is just Samsung's name for a standard connection technology from the Digital Living Network Alliance. Most new TV's, PC's, phones, etc are DLNA capable. IMediaShare, MediaHouse, and a dozens other apps available from the Play Store will connect your phone to your TV. A DLNA app connects to your network and gives you the ability to stream video, view pictures, etc from one device on the network to any other. What you cannot do is stream live video from your phone to your TV (e.g., netflix from your phone to your TV), which is what we all want to do.
AppleTV can do that. Even if you don't have an apple device, the Netflix app is loaded on the box and you can watch it through that.
I know it's not directly related to the topic of the thread, but if that's your main concern, it's a solution.
