How do I upgrade from 4.0.2 - UK user on O2

    Hi Folks,
I've just joined this forum and I'm searching but there is not a lot coming up.
I am in the UK on O2 - my Android version is 4.0.2.
I am trying to force it to manually update but it says I'm on the latest version.
My colleagues Nexus is on 4.0.4 ???

In addition - the reception of this handset is poor compaired to the Blackberry's we've moved from (i've seen the official thread) but I don't think this is just your "verision" network as we don;t have that hear in the UK.

Any advice of help on the upgrade would be useful.
So far we have poor reception and it drops the bluetooth connection to cars.
The stndard Exchange App doesn't do tasks and the "push" technology is not a patch on blackberry.
Is more or a "constant polling" then a true "push" and it doesn nothing for battery life.

    Thanks!!
    Richard

    Thanks for this info guys!
Daft question - the user who has is phone showing 4.0.4 has not done anything fance like this, he has just accepted the OTA offer to Upgrade the phone.
How is this possible to be on 4.0.4 and the rest of aren't? I am going into Settings > About Phone > About Phone > System Updates and clicking "Check now" but nothing is available and it says "Your system is currently up to date" - last checked {current time}.

Is 4.0.4 regions specific? We're all on the same network and in the same office. I only ask because i get the impression 4.0.4 has only been released in the US for some reason?
    Thanks again guys!

No one really knows how or when Google chooses to send updates. All we know is that it is sent in waves. Speculations say based on build info, imei number, etc. It is really possible that 2 people who are sitting beside each other with the same build, same network, even let's say same place where they bought the phone could not be getting the updates at the same time.

First things first. Would you happen to know if your build is yakju? If it is, you can update without losing data.

Ok next is have you unlocked your bootloader before? Because if it is still locked, manual update would need you to unlock it thus losing data. If you don't want to go through all the trouble of restoring, you need to simply wait for OTA or try to force it by going to settings - apps - clear cache and data of google services framework then check on your status update. some have reported getting the update in the first few tries some have mentioned repeating the process more than 20 times before they were able to get the update.
