    USB Device Not Recognized, please help!

    Hello everyone!
    First time on the forums, thank you for your help in advance
    I am the proud new owner of a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but when I tried plugging it into the computer, it said "USB Device Not Recognized: One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognized it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message"
    When I click the message, it just takes me to a list of my USB ports with "Unknown Device" in bold, i assume this is the nexus. It suggested I install all available updates for windows, so I did that, but it's still not helping.
    I am running Windows 7, btw. I know this problem has been posted with Windows XP, but everyone said that it worked for their windows 7 computers.....

    update, it does work sometimes, and i can use it as a media device, but then it just randomly stop working and disconnects sometimes....

    now i'm thinking it might be a cable or hardware problem because i'm trying again while being extremely careful not to touch the cable or phone, and it's working....
    in a way, though, this is worse, because hardware problems are harder to fix....

    If you have the option, try a different computer - just for the sake of troubleshooting. I've ran across this before (thumbdrives), I think it was the device and computer didn't get along. A new cable might help. If u were able to try a different cable, and a different PC, and this is still happening, then I'd vote to take it back.

    I tried another computer, still doesn't work. Called Bell, they told me to download Kies, which is connecting with my device

    What version of Kies? Can't get mine to connect to Kies at all !

    oh, sorry, typo, it ISN'T connecting to kies. But I did get a new cable and that solved the disconnection issue...

    Try turning off your USB debugging on your Nexus.
