    Disable System Update Notification. Remove annoying notification to update to 4.0.4

    Hi everyone. I was sent the OTA for the 4.0.4 update today, obviously I can't accept it as rooted and using custom ROM. Is there a way to disable it until AOKP B30 is released. I am aware that B29 is running 4.0.4 but I am also sorting out my girlfriends GNex (the notification seems to be irritating her more than me-I can live with it to be honest) and really can't be bothered to Flash 29 on two phones then flash 30 on two phones when it's out. Thanks for any ideas.

    Also apologies if this is posted in the wrong place, wasn't sure where it fits!

    On GB you needed to place a file called : fotakill on your sd to stop the ota's notifications but donno if ics works the same way.

    Thanks for the quick reply! I had a look for fotakill and found a fotakill.zip to flash through recovery, but it was to stop updates to gingerbread. If anybody can shed some light as to what it's putting on my phone and if it will work in this instwould be great.

    Edit - Have installed fotakill.apk as system app but notification still coming. The file is dated to april 2011 so not sure if I need a newer one. If so can't find it.

    sorry i can't be of more help. My rom setting doesn't push the updates so... but would be handy to know for sure !

    On GB all we had to to is use an app such as titanium backup to freeze updater. Apk and then boot recovery and wipe cache you might try that and see if it works

    I tried to look for an updater apk but could only find market updater, guessing that's not involved. But been a day now and no more notifications!
