Photos taken using the Galaxy Nexus

As suggested I have taken a few photos today for the sake of camera quality rating. I've uploaded them using Picasa and hope that the compression is not too great if any.

    Outdoor

    Panorama

    Indoor

I've also taken the same outdoor shot with my iPhone 4 but did not have time to transfer the photos using my PC. And as I'm sure you know iOS dose not support Bluetooth image transfer.

All in all I am not all that impressed with the camera. If you are looking for a camera that is also a phone I recommend you give this one a miss. On the other hand if you are looking for a awesome phone with a camera option IMO this is the finest one currently available.

"Look closely, as very few people have caught the elusive broken image out in the wild." ... just playin'. I'd love to see the images though.

    ::EDIT::
Yay! Fixed!! (see real comment / post below)

I see your Picasso experience is similar to mine. It sucks. Your liked photos are not working. The workaround is go open the pictures not from the application, but on the actual website and right click or long click on your phone to get the image url. Use that.

    Thunderbolt photo from Picasso.

Picasa really reduced the quality of these images . It dose not do them justice. Sorry for the lack of vibrant colors its just that I live in Britain and here everything is gray and the sun doesn't shine.

I think those G.Nex pics are great personally

Quite frankly, if you're looking to do "photography" - go buy a Nikon or something along the lines of a professional grade camera. I feel these pictures are VERY acceptable

(don't get me wrong - I'd love to have near professional quality photos from my phone, as I'm getting in the habit of taking a lot of pics from it, and will most likely take a lot more via the Galaxy Nexus)

Oh! and those Thunderbolt pics are REALLY nice! I think there's always a time and a place for each camera / photo - I mean, I'm quite happy with most of my OG's pics - assuming I let it focus for a bit, and the lighting is just right.

Couldn't agree more with you Rob. I personally don't use the phone camera often at all. Its good to have it if needed for emergency cases, but it should not be the main selling point of any phone .

I agree to. I had the Droidx since it came out & can count on one hand the number of photos taken on it.

    Stefan,

Any of the normal online photo albums do compress the photo greatly. It is the nature of the beast. But, a good picture normally still looks good compressed while a mediocre or poor photo goes downhill fast with compression.
