    I think I had Superuser before rooting the phone and that could be the problem. when I have the time I will unroot it and do the entire process again.

    Did you install the su.zip in recovery when you first rooted? You need that. Its a binary not an app for SU.

    Yes I did install the such.zip that was one of the steps I went through using Wug's rooting tool kit.
