Tonight I was talking to a friend, after about 25 minutes I started get a tremendous amount of popping and cracking noise. I have the muting mic issue however, this is the worse it has ever popped and cracked. Any ideas what causes this?

sometimes i can't hear the caller, but they can hear me, but it doesn't happen often. never had the cracks and popping though. i'd exchange it if you can, sounds like a bad speaker. in my case, i'm going to hold out for the update and see what that does.

Hi guys today i "watched" something weird, when i'm calling someone or someone calls me and i answer the phone (galaxy nexus 4.0.2 ics) i'm hearing a wind noise like psssss....i don't know how else to described it.... It's really annoying ...i tried two different headsets (when i'm using a headset the noise became louder!!!) but nothing,i also reboot the phone disconnect the batterie...get out the sim card ...but again nothing ...I hope that this is a problem of my 3g network or a bug of ics....the last update i remember was yesterday (yesterday everything was normal no noise no nothing ) on twitter and some other app , is it possible that these updates create the problem???? (something else is that is it normal to be at 4.0.2 ??? because i think that the rest of the users are on 4.0.3 or 4???)
Thnks for your time guys i'm waiting for your thoughts
I think there is something going on with Verizon ... I had bad call issues all last week - squealing, screeching, popping - this week all seems OK (same radios too). Maybe big red is upgrading towers?? I don't know ...
But I called them last week (several times) and they all seemed baffled - they were willing to give my a Razr Maxx as a replacement (this is my 4th GNex - not all call quality issues). I asked them if I could think about the Maxx offer, when I called back the next day the story changed to "a software update is due out early to mid March which should resolve your issues".
Now, this week I haven't had a call issues at all - no clue what gives! Felt like telling the tech, "Well, if the update is 4.0.4 - that's what I was running when this issues started!"Figured that'd be a bad idea though
