Anyway to change lockscreen dialer

Yes. You have to be unlocked and rooted though since you are modifying the framework-res.apk file. And make a backup before doing so since if you screw that up, you are really screwed if you don't have the means to bring your phone back.

this app works well on the gnex, lots of customization options: Widget Locker Lockscreen

I have been using widget locker for about six months. I think it was 2 or 3 bucks. Definitely worth it. I have 4 direct dials, flashlight, music player, navigation, camera, video camera, and ringer toggle all on my lockscreen. All apps that I like to access quickly/ access while driving.
