Even with the upgrade the Facebook app will need to be updated to use the api. Most ROMs have this integrated.

no word on the official update yet
I was told by level 2 tech support last Friday that it is coming during the 2nd or 3rd week of February.

How did you get Verizon to tell you ANYTHING? I am stunned they would even provide a range of dates. Nobody over there will tell me anything, mainly because this information is kept secret from most Verizon employees.
I sure wish this was coming in January as originally forecast. Then again, I'd rather they wait a few weeks and get it right, vs. getting it to us faster.
Did the Level 2 tech you talked with indicate whether 4.0.3 has anything in it other than the reception/stability improvements?

Yea Verizon usually won't release those kind of details even if they did know them. You must have got the leaky employee who cares less.
I do agree That they should take their time and fix it rather then push it. Who knows, with the phone just coming out... and the number of complaints I'm sure they've had over the signal issues, Beucase I'm positive we're not the only ones that are having the problem. There's probably 250k people who bought the phone who aren't on the forum. And I'm almost positive with as many as are on teh boards having an issue, that at least 15% of those have called, and probably another 5% of those are returning callers with same issue. That's still complaint heavy. A co worker of mine bought the phone the day it came out, two actually, one for him and one for his wife, They both live in the phoenix area, and they both have issues with signal and calls dropping for no apparant reason. And they have called I know a few times, and that's just two people, So maybe verizon will take our heed, and get something done about it.
Ok I'm done rambling, sorry.

Have you considered rooting your phone? Some of the custom ROMs are built on 4.0.3

I'm on 4.0.3 and it does nothing to help with reception. In still in the situation where my nexus had no service while the guys around me with Motorola droids are rocking away. Monday evening I was very close to smashing this phone off the counter as I attempted to call my wife 5 times and it would ring and connect but then drop the call. Then I picked up my buddies Droid X and made the call perfectly. Then handed him back the phone so he could go back to messing around on the inter webs. I was fuming.
