    Screen brightness and battery usage

I wanted to ask if anyone else just keeps the device at full brightness all the time. I'm using my phone as a hotspot all day so I have it plugged in at work. I like having the screen bright and vivid so I keep my brightness maxed.

When I do this, I get about 50% battery drain per hour of screen on time. Is this in line with other people?

Initially I had my phone on auto brightness but I just spent a lot of dough on this device and I want to enjoy it. As the screen is one of the best features I keep the brightness up though usually not full. I turn on auto brightness at night. You're battery discharge rate is probably normal. I'm caring less about my battery and simply enjoying my GN - with my charger nearby.

i use tasker to turn brightness to full when i use navigation or email. the rest of the time it keeps it at 50%. it will kill a battery like you said. that 50% loss per hour is about right here

Im with holly, For what I paid for the device im going to enjoy it. Im not sacrificing my pretty screen just to save a battery. Besides, I really don't notice a difference in the battery drain between auto and full.

I agree. My battery life is horrible but I have a charger at home, work and in the car.

Well, I'm running Axi0m 2.4 with Apex kernel, so that's covered...

But I guess my phone is working as intended! I have chargers everywhere, too, which is fine for the work week. On the weekend I tote my extra battery.

    Well, thanks for reassuring me!

I did some sort of experimentation between 30% and 100% brightness in terms of battery life, and noticed very little differences if any between battery life. I have turned off everything else I dont need, 3G only, wifi only when using it, no bluetooth and no gps.

I figured I may as well enjoy the screen as much as I could.
