I got a GNex on the day of launch, but had to return it about 5 days later due to some defects. When packaging it back up to return it, I noticed that the screen had a few very light/minor hairline scratches on it. This was with very careful use. I never lay it face down, and always carry it in my front pocket by itself. So my impression was that the GNex screen was really inferior to the Gorilla Glass that was on my DX. So when I got my new GNex, I also purchased a Steinheil Ultra Oleophobic screen protector.

I read a tip from someone else as to who to eliminate dust from getting under the protector during installation. I went into my 3/4 bathroom, ran the shower on HOT for about 5 minutes to create some steam in the room. I guess the steam weighs down the dust in the room, thus eliminating dust from floating around. I thoroughly cleaned the screen with the supplied MF and dust tape, and applied the protector. I had just a few air bubbles that quickly came out with the squeegee. Overall I'm very happy with the Steinheil so far. It does NOT cover the entire screen, as I guess dry applications can't accommodate the curvature of the glass. But when paired with my hard silicone case that has a lip on the edge of the glass, the uncovered area is negligible.

The overall feel IMO is the same as the naked glass. Clarity is also very good as well.

i'm on the fence about these. i just bought an xo skins and pulled it off because it made the screen grainy and reduced touch sensitivity. didn't care for the rubber feel either. i was thinking of trying the ghost skins....or maybe i should just give up lol

I had one on my Droid X but I'm not putting one on my Nexus. I don't think I need it. I don't the one on my X was needed either. I keep my phone in a separate pocket from my keys and change so no need to worry about something scratching the screen.

Re: the Steinheil oleophobic, it allows your finger to glide nicely across the surface. No rubbery feel. May not feel this way at first, but give it a little time.
