I am trying to put some music on my Nex, and anytime I plug in the USB, it attempts to install the drivers, but it fails.
Any ideas? This makes ZERO sense.....I have W7 and normally have no issues with any devices.
Thanks for the help!!

I think there have been some problems with Win7 64 bit. Is that what you have? Have you tried to install the driver manually?
Tapped via Galaxy Nexus LTE..

Have you tried downloading this driver? Click on Software at the bottom to get the driver file.
Yes, I have W7 in 64bit. I am shocked they are having issues with it. It isn't like 64bit is new or hasn't been around a long time. Almost every new computer comes with 64bit and has for almost a year.
Very strange Samsung....
As for the USB download, yes, I did that yesterday to no avail.....
I just emailed Samsung, nice to see they don't even have this phone listed in the dropdown menu as the choice of what you want to get in touch about.....Vey Strange Samsung if you are watching this stuff!!
I have Win7 64-bit. Mine plugged in and was recognized. Windows automatically installed the drivers.

Actually, this is happening to me, too. I've done all kinds of things... I even tried installing Kies and New PC Studio (I don't know if that would help, but it was worth a shot in my mind). I have Vista 64. I'd love to know if someone can figure this out, because I'm out. Spent a few hours on it, all told, and I'm not completely clueless with technology either.
Have you tried a manual driver installation approach?
1. Open device manager (Start menu > type "Device")
2. Locate the improperly to installed devices (will have a yellow exclamation mark next to them)
3. Right click the device and choose "Update Driver Software..."
4. Select: "Browse my computer for driver software"
5. Select: "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer", then hit next
6. Select: "Have Disk..."
7. Select: "Browse..." and then navigate to the location of the folder which contains the *.inf file for your device. It should be in whatever directory the Samsung driver extracted/installed too.
8. If your computer prompts you with a message regarding driver signature verification, then just accept it.
9. Repeat process with any other non-configured devices.
10. Refresh your device manager and make sure everything is configured properly.

I had problems installing device drivers too....
this worked for me....
manually delete driver on computer then manually reinstall the driver.
I always have problems with new devices and windows 7 64-bit...WHY cant they sort these issues????
Thank you, I'd forgotten how to force specific drivers to install. There's a long list in the install location though (various folders all containing their respective drivers, which seem to correspond to all kinds of different Samsung devices.) I can't figure out which one would be the GNex. None of them says "i515" or anything like that, even. I'll copy the text or screenshot as soon as possible, but unfortunately I have to run out of the house.
