How do I update? Previously when I wasn't rooted, I just reset wallet, uninstalled, and installed new app. But now I'm rooted and when I open the app I can't get to settings to reset. Wat do?

Just go to one or both grapthar's links and download the apk. Then go to it's folder location, find it and select it to install it. It will install directly over the current Google Wallet just like if you were to download an update from the Play Store.

It is really that simple.

haha, forgot I even started it. No problem. As long as the goods are being delivered...

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't gonna F something up. I've read stories of people "frying" their NFC chips, stuff like that. Just wanted to double check.

Lol. Yeah, from what I've read, they have fixed the NFC-frying fixed. But it never hurts to reset Google Wallet, anyways. If only to CYA. Lol.

Not that this is the end all threads about Wallet as I'm sure tons of them pop up every week. But seeing as it's seen 2 updated apks in the thread, figured I'd throw this information in.

If anyone is familiar with or head of Jason Klimek, he's the guy that submitted the informal complaint to the FCC about Verizon blocking tethering apps and bootloaders. This is the case that Verizon ended up "shelling out" $1.25 million in fines for and is now why you can get tether apps from Play. Here's a recent article he wrote and if you follow P3Droid on Twitter I'm sure you've seen links. Tether Wars and Bootloader Scare Tactics. | AOSP

He's recently also begun to dig around into the Google Wallet app situation and why it doesn't work with Verizon Gnex but works on other carriers. Here's a blog from his site on the topic.

FYI Everyone,

The new version of GW (1.5-R81-v4) won't work. At least on the official 4.1 OTA. Then again, it might be my own problem, IDK. But I'd thought I'd share anyway.

It will not load your cards. Says, "Add card failed." So it looks like VZW bullied Google again. Which agrivates me.

Google is the one who's stock is $500-$600/share. And VZW is only $40-something/share. Google should be telling VZW where and how to stick it.

Looks like he's gotten good information that it is definitely Verizon that's choking Wallet and now a hardware/software issue and that it's probably not Google backing off kindly on Wallet to get favor for future phones. I haven't read the draft. I suspect it's not being posted online to help keep it under wraps until he actually submits to the FCC.
