    Moved to Apps forum ...

I haven't used ROM Manager in a while ... but have you tried clearing cache and/or data from ROM Manager? If that don't get it, perhaps an uninstall / install will get it??

    Tried unistall/install. didn't help

I did switch ROMs to one that used superuser app as aopposed to supersu and rom manager worked perfect, just alot of other apps wouldn't then.

Don't think it'd be a superuser issue ... if it were you'd get an error as soon as opening the app. Is that what's happening? Or are you getting an error while in recovery during the the backup process?

Getting it while in recovery. If I click "backup current rom" when I open the app, i get the error when it tries to make the backup. If I reboot into recovery through the app, then make a back up that way no error.

Since you're able to make a backup from within recovery, then I think it's just a case of ROM manager being an unreliable app. It's fine to use to reflash recovery or possibly download a ROM, but I wouldn't use it for backup/restore or flashing ROMs. It's always had issues with that on every device I've owned...booting into recovery to backup or flash ROMs is generally always a safer, more reliable option.

Last year, when I had the SGS2 phone, one of the Rescue Squad guys over on Galaxy Forums told me to steer clear of Rom Manager, He said that "Rom Manager doesn't play well with Samsung phones", so I never installed Rom Manager and had zero problems with the Galaxy S II during the time I had it. On my current GSM Galaxy Nexus, I'm running straight stock so it's not an issue.

+3. Maintain control of what you flash.
