    App that saved my day...

Ok. First let me explain my story so that you guys can see how this can be useful. I woke up one morning to a dead phone. Nothing would charge it. Luckily I had an extra battery with a 50% charge on it, bc I was gonna need it. In the process of installing this other battery, I noticed that my charging port on my Nexus had some corrosion on it and that there was very little moisture under the battery itself but not enough to rub the pink indicator. Unfortunately the charging port took the full force of the moisture. So I got out some rubbing alcohol (good for cleaning electronic components) and contact cleaner and cleaned the charging port. It now charges. But it doesn't connect to my computer via usb. Neither the phone or computer recognized it. So I have to exchange it. Bad thing is, it's unlocked and rooted and running a custom rom. I can't run any fastboot commands to set it back to stock because of the USB issue. So I found myself in a tough spot. So what did I do? I took a chance. I did have an app called Android Sync Manager WiFi to back up my pictures and essentials to my computer over a wifi connection. But this isn't the app that saved me. I had to set my phone back to stock. I used an app called Mobile Odin (Play Store Link). I then downloaded the factory images (mine were .tar) so I could Odin back to stock. Put them on the root of my internal storage. Selected the files I needed and the app separated the files into their perspective areas for me. I then flashed it. Guess what? Back to stock. All without using my computer except the backing up process.

If anyone knows of an easier way to do this please comment. Also I am now looking into locking my phone again in a similar manner because I can not use a wire! If anyone has info on this to help me to run in fastboot without being wired, please inform me!

I've be watching mobile odin for awhile now just for this very reason but have never used it. I'm glad to hear that it does work.

As for locking your phone back, I don't think there is a way to do it without connecting and using fastboot. I know there is a wireless ADB method but I doubt wireless fastboot.

Yea, wireless ADB I actually tried. It let me reboot into the bootloader but I couldn't do anything from there. Im wondering if someone could create an app to do it for you. Like you just install the app and it boots into bootloader and locks it for you by running the command. Don't know if it's possible but it could be a life saver for in the future. I may just take my chances and send it in for a new one lol

If your making an insurance claim...I don't think asurion cares if it's rooted or not...that only applies to warranty and I don't think moisture damage would be covered under that anyway

There's no sign of moisture damage after I cleaned it. And not making an insurance claim. I am not rooted anymore, just unlocked. I would have to return it anyway. I turned my first one in BC the power button wasn't working. Now this one is too. It works at times but other times doesn't. I know Sammy has had problems with this in the past on other phones.
