    Imessage like app?

The iphones in the recent update got imessage, which tells them when their message has been sent, recieved, read, and when they're typing back. I was wondering if there's an equivalent on android with these features.
    Thanks

Something similar is in the default Messaging app. You need to open Messaging and go into settings.

Also, 3rd party apps have that as well. Or at least something similar (like GoSMS).

Another area iPhone was lagging behind. And another reason (crab)Apple was all pissed at Android and why they are suing Google/Android. It's ok for Apple to absorb other's stuff into their own product. But God forbid if someone else does it...

It seems that not many people use it in the US. Here in the UK it is very popular. It will save you a lot of money on multimedia content sending as well as international messaging. Not to mention that it works flawlessly.

I was hoping for the exact features like if they've read it, and if they're typing. Stock sms doesnt have that, and for whatsapp, do the other people have to have it aswell? Or does it support their sms?

Other people must have it in order for you to message them and have the features you have mentioned on your disposal. There is no android built in equivalent to the iPhone iMessage. But the iMessage is limited in the way that you need to have an iPhone running iOS 5 to use it. Whatsapp can be installed on a huge variety of phones including the iPhone.
