    apex vs. nova

who here is running Apex and Nova launcher? I have both and I don't see much of a difference between the two. Probably not enough to make me switch everything over to Apex. Is anyone else running it. what advantages does one have over the other? Maybe I can be persuaded, until then I will keep messing with apex from time to time.

I'm use to Nova so I will stay with it. I used Apex and it's different but nice.

I run nova but after reading this thread, i wanted to test apex for myself. My first discoveries were..

-When you longpress an icon on apex, it gives you more options (share, app info)
-If you have a "menu" softkey, inside includes more actions such as lock/unlock desktop and help.
-Since i have a modified DPI of 241, i noticed that SOMETIMES on nova that when i pressed my menu softkey, my "system settings" action dissapeared. On apex, that problem never occured yet.
-Apex ui is much more cleaner in my opinion. Nova now has prime adds.
-Apex has one homescreen transition more than non prime nova. And its pretty awesome.
-Drawer apps sorting!? i definitely like this because i organize my computer files by date created.

anyway, i would recommend this to people who like to use launchers to give this one a try. Im gonna make the switch from nova to apex because of those statements abve.

Are you all rooted? I tried Apex (non-rooted) and gave up when I couldn't place widgets on my home screens. are these launchers mainly for rooted devices?

No. They can be used on either. Long press on your home screen and widgets should pop up. Use nova for example. If you are not rooted, long press screen. If rooted they are in the app drawer or you can long press. Hth

There are things that I like about each...I like that Nova has folder customizations - icon, platform, etc. Apex offered infinite scroll in the app drawer and additional tabbing...

It is always fun to try them out - Apex is free and Nova has a paid add-on which is a great way to show support for the dev...

I'm using Nova Prime and its pretty solid. Tried apex but didn't find it very fluid. I have to give it another try.
