Google Music dying?

The article is a bit alarmist but if there's any kernel of truth to it and Google DOES consider shuttering it, that would make me a really sad panda. I live a Mac life with my GNex being the only exception. The ability of GM to sync with even my iTunes playlists and do automatic updating is something that's been a killer product for me. What do you guys think of this article?

I am pretty simplistic when it comes to my music needs, but I LOVE that when I rip a CD with Windows Media Player it automatically syncs to GM. Make it available offline and profit

Well it doesn't help that the prices are typically higher than Amazon MP3, and almost the equivalent of a physical CD. .. I live it up tho when they have GOOD CDs on sale

I do use google music but honestly the sync portion of it is terrible. I have to go in and fix thousands of songs, if I delete it from itunes it needs to delete it from GMusic. Plus the playlists never sync right. This has led me to hardly use it at all anymore. Also a good portion of my music is AIFF file type which GMusic doesn't support.

I just started using Google music earlier this week and so far I'm loving it. I love the syncing and having my music "in the cloud" is great as I can free up my space on my gnexus.

The sync does s*ck. On 25000 songs, at least 3000 couldnt be synced...

Same here. Have a few thousand that never seem to sync. ID3tags are always messed up on the app even if they are correct. Nice concept, just needs to be polished up.

The only sync issues I've noticed, is with the 4.0.4 gapps version of the Google Music player - i actually patched back to a prior version and have very little issue. (but I don't know anything about syncing with iTunes)

I use Google music almost every day. Most of the time for 8-10 hours at a time. Now that I have gotten so attached to it, if they close Google music, I will be saying goodbye to Andorid. This is my most used app and feature on my GNex. I would probably have to switch to the fruit phone for iTunes, as now I can't see myself without music.

I also use it about 8-10 hours a day, but I wouldn't be ditching Android for iOS, and as I mentioned earlier, I'm already a pretty pro-Mac person. I don't want to go off-topic, but there are enough little things about iOS that I find annoying which Android gets right. That's enough to keep me on the platform for the foreseeable future. If there comes a day where the war between Apple and Google makes it so that there's no cross-platform possible, that might be what forces my hand.
