Lookout is supposed to be one of the best but honestly your head is the best antivirus you can get. As long as you stick with trusted developers and bigger name apps you shouldn't have a problem. The antivirus software doesn't really scan deep down into the code of the app. I don't believe in them. If you want one lookout is probably your best choice. Let me see if I can find a post by Koush, developer of clockworkmod, ROM manager and other great apps, about antivirus on android.

I can tell you that over the years the installation of anti-virus apps on Android phones has been the source of many performance issues. When phantom problems appear, the first thing that most folks ask is, "Do you have an anit-virus app installed?". And the when uninstalled the problems go away. Just my opinion.
Good luck.

There have been more and more articles on newspapers talking about the increasing threat of a major attack by hackers on Android phones, which will likely cause the monthly bill skyrocketing. I was looking at different antivirus apps on Market, but could not make up my mind.
You really don't need antivirus software on the phone. Android isn't built like Windows. I've had 5 Android phones, installed every non-legit app under the sun, rommed, rooted, and everything else you're told not to and I've never really had a problem. Just stay away from Chinese characters and you're golden.
