Maybe sand is the wrong word. Sediment that is found in my pickets builds up in the phone covers.
How do the Hybrid Cases Perform?
Also, is the quality of the Skinomi better than the gadgetshieldz?

Mine doesn't really get those sediments inside. I put the phone in the pockets too with a case. I like skinomi better than gadgetshieldz but of course there's a premium for it since there is a big price difference. hybrid cases i haven't used.

Premium?
It seems the Hybrid cases are softer so they wouldn't force the sediments against the phone and scratch it up.![]()

It is only 6 bucks o.o
That's just for the screen. I always get the full body protectors

So what case? Diztronics or cruzerlite?
What is the best solution for wet screen protector spray?
I like a nice snug TPU case as well though I never bother with screen protectors. Here is my two cents. I am also using the VZW nexus with the OEM extended battery like you. I ordered the Diztronic rev 3 high gloss smoke. I like it and it fits just fine. I prefer just a bit more rigidity and I like to have as many buttons covered as possible. So I went ahead and ordered the CIMO frost tpu case, primarily because I noticed that it covers the volume rocker. It had the stiffness and rigidity I was looking for and I think it is an excellent TPU case. It will never slip off and the lips/rim stay very snug IMO. The only complaint I have is that it is VERY snug against the volume rocker and it is very easy to unintentionally turn the volume down, especially when holding it to make calls. I have to turn it back up alot lets just put it that way, but otherwise I am very satisfied. Both fit the oem extended well. and both are cheap.
edit: here is the link for the cimo case I got. not all of them cover the volume rocker but I would recommend it as far as snugness goes. http://www.amazon.com/Cimo-Samsung-V...o+galaxy+nexus

That case seems very nice. I am just like you; i want as many openings covered as possible. Does it also cover the power button?
EDIT: Does that case come in matte black for the US?

Dunno about the matte black. The power button has an opening as does the 3 pin dock but they are relatively small. The reason I think you might like it, aside from the extra covering on the volume is that the rim is pretty flush against the screen. It would be relatively difficult for stuff to get up under there. It's also real easy to slip off for how snug it fits so cleaning is no problem. I throw it in my bag or pocket often without worrying. The screen is already a hair/lint/etc magnet like WAY more so than my bionic was but I have no problems on my end with it. Seriously though the volume thing takes some getting used to. The first couple days you will be like man my phone is real quiet wait how did it get turned down? I still recommend it over the rev 3.
