Modify OEM Vertical media dock for extended battery

I recently came over to the Nexus side from a Droid Bionic and I gotta say...I love this phone much more than my bionic...or any other motorola product. But the battery life is horrible. I bought the vertical dock with HDMI....but I also have the extended battery from Seidio. Unfortunately it wont fit on the dock with the battery. Has anyone successfully modeified the dock to work with the ext. battery?
I attemped the shave the dock backing down some with a dremel but it didnt do much. and I dont know how thick the plastic is on it so I dont want to cut thru it. Anyone know how to take this thing apart without breaking it?

If you can't move the phone back further, is there any way to move the plug forward?

not that ive been able to figure out. but i havent been able to actually tear apart the dock. it may be possible to cut away some plastic in front of the plug so that it can move a little bit foward and allow a solid connection. but i think even then i would need to trim away some of the front lip so the phone can sit flat and give the usb connector a good connection

Good point. You start carving on that too much & there won't be anything left. I'm sure you'd like to keep use it & don't want to destroy it

yeah but it was only $25 on ebay brand new...so ill keep tinkering with it and see what i can figure out. if i am able to mod it enough to fit the Siedio ext battery in it ill post up a how to.

well no luck with that idea. trimmed and sanded down as much as i could but it still wouldnt fit right. plus the ribbon cable from the board to the charging port broke. so cant see if it actually works anymore....oh well..live and learn
