2500mah batteries on ebay, are they safe?

I've found 2500mah batteries on ebay and I'd like to buy one or two, but I'm concerned about my phone's safety as the batteries are the same size as the normal ones while they provide 2500mah. What do you think?

You probably won't hurt anything. Normally knockoffs just don't give you the advertised power. Like it might say 250mAh but its only like a 1500mAh battery.

if they are knock off batteries, just like what Droid said, they most likely don't give the correct ratings. if you want an extended battery, better go with oem. i myself use the 2000mAh batt i got from Korea with the back cover.

I bought the extended 2100mah Samsung battery from the Verizon store. Didn't trust eBay. I'm happy with it

Here is the link from which I'd like to buy: 2x 2500mah Battery for Samsung Galaxy Nexus i9250 Nexus Prime Galaxy Nexus i515 | eBay
As you can see in the photos, it's written on them 2500mah.

Just make sure it has the NFC chip if you use that feature. A lot of the china batteries don't have them. You will need it for Google wallet and other stuff. If you don't know what a NFC chip is (I didn't know a month ago) to here:

I have found that when you get a 40 dollar battery for 5 bucks, you get what you pay for. But having one in a pinch, is priceless.

What case do you use with the extended batteries? The regular ones like the oem verizon holster doesn't seem to fit well.

Any high power bats that fit the standard size back?
